The POLTI cycle team - why  - well that zany cycle clothing that someone designed, if you didn't look at anything else you probably keep looking back at the rider with the Polti gear.

Me I couldn't keep my eyes off any photo depicting a Polti rider in a magazine to the point that nearly twenty years later I've bought the jersey and shorts on Ebay. They still look good now! Well thats my opinion. Other than that they were actually not a bad team on top of that. The above picture showing Gianetti leading the way on an escape from the peloton to take another victory.

What's the score with the "flatpack" on the left image - well it gives you an idea upon the usage of the advertising space available - remember this is the early 1990s, not that designers of the cycle clothing were worried about coming forward. With the Polti does anyone realise that the green is depicting vapours/steam etc that you would associate with some of the Polti products, the chances are no one had given it a thought. Colours, no idea how much Polti were charged for the designing etc, maybe they were not, maybe it came as a deal with Santini who supplied the clothing, but were given some basic rules they had to abide by, whatever, it worked, green and yellow, red lettering with some black to stand certain products out. All in all where there was space then a majority of the time it was filled by the vapour/spray green

Below centre, Fausto Coppi frameset in red, yes they used yellow as one can see with Gianetti, but at the time I was finding it exceedingly hard in originally getting an image of a yellow  Coppi frameset, not that I think there is anything wrong with the one below - I'll take if someone offered it to me!! Once more there is a hint of brown and again the black in full contrast to the main used colour of red.
